Celebrity chefs intimidating mothers, complains Gordon Ramsey's wife
25 June, 2007 BY OUR CELEBRITY REPORTER Try to digest this: The wife of Britain’s best-known chef Gordon Ramsay has trained her guns on celebrity chefs for “frightening” mothers who are forced to turn to readymade meals because of fear of failing to match the standard of TV chefs. Tana Ramsey has spoken out that mothers resort to readymade meals and avoid approaching food preparation from the scratch because they are “nervous” about presentation, the Daily Mail has quoted her as saying. She told Mail on Sunday’s Summer Health supplement that mothers turn to readymade meals to feed their families rather than preparing home-cooked meals because they fear they cannot match the way TV chefs “whip up culinary masterpieces in the blink of an eye.”
“People reach for something partly
prepared or readymade because they are
too afraid to tackle it from scratch.
Mothers get nervous about
presentation. If it doesn’t look
perfect, they think they have failed,”
complains Tana Ramsey.
