Toonz Academy gets Europe varsity affiliation

South Asia’s leading 3D and 2D animation training institute Toonz Academy has received an affiliation with the prestigious European Carolus Magnus University, based out of Brussels, for its various animation training courses.

The ECM University, founded and sponsored by the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry (EEIG), through its Diploma and Degree certificates will recognize the 3D and 2D animation courses provided by the Toonz Academy. These certificates would fulfill the requirements of a European Vocational Qualification and career development, and are beneficial to both the economy and profession, said a Toonz Academy statement.

P Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz Animation, which is the parent company of the Toonz Academy, said, “We are proud at this development, for the fact that our academy came out with flying colours through the strict evaluation process of the EEIG. This definitely would propel the academy as a world-class animation training institute and would help churn professionals for the global animation market.”

The statement quoting EEIG president Anita Singh said that the EEIG is committed towards encouraging quality education in any part of the world. “We are happy to be associated with a prestigious institute run by a world famous animation studio,” she was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the Toonz Academy is said to be lining up major expansion in the near future. "This is one of many expansion plans that we have in mind, centers in cities like Ahmedabad, Indore, Chennai and Bangalore will launch shortly. Through this affiliation we aim to take animation training to new levels," says Mr. Ramaprasad, Executive Director, Toonz Academy.

Toonz Academy , part of Toonz Animation India, had opened its first centre in 2003, in Kerala. In 2007, the academy opened its centers in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Nagpur.
