Kerala
3 November 2007:
Osaka-based paints major Nippon Paint
has embarked on a major retail push
with the company aiming at opening
around 25 new retail stores in Kerala
by March 2008. The paints major is
also lining up retail outlets across
India.
The company, kick started its efforts
by opening a 300 sq ft outlet in
Thiruvananthapuram designed to enhance
the customer experience. The retail
initiative from Nippon Paint would
offer customers personalized service
and lot of inputs to choose the right
paint and right colors for decorating
and protecting homes and environment.
Nippon Paint currently imports paints
from its group companies in Asia but
is in the process of setting up
manufacturing facilities in India. The
first plant would come up in Chennai
during 2008. The company is
introducing some of its interior and
exterior emulsions, in
Thiruvananthapuram, from its global
portfolio, such as 3 in 1 Medifresh
Anti bacterial Paint and Weatherbond,
.
Nippon Paint will set up its chain of
Nippon Paint Stores outlets across the
country through its channel partners,
an official said. The exclusive stores
will also provide professional help
and consultancy services while
elevating the shopping experience.
With Kerala turning out to be a
premium market for all companies,
Nippon believes that the discerning
Keralite would appreciate the
company’s retail initiative and shop
at its outlets.
The new retail stores would offer a
host of services like providing
technical information, color scheming
options, application support etc to
the consumers. The company expects the
response for its retail initiative to
be overwhelming across all the
markets.
Meanwhile, Nippon Paint has unveiled
its new Nippon Color Visualiser

their homes virtually painted prior to
actual painting. This would help
customers make informed decisions on
how to choose colors and color
schemes. The software would be
installed in select stores and
customers can walk in with scanned
pictures of their houses/ rooms to get
a preview.
