NetXcell draws up big plans for India

Telecom application service provider NetXcell is all set to pump in more money into the product facilities in India. NetXcell, which already partners companies such as Airtel, Hutch, Idea, BSNL, Reliance and Aircel, is expected to rope in Virgin Mobile too for a partnership. NetXcell develops mobile applications for telecom service providers, enterprise clients, and consumers.

NetXcell, which expects revenues of Rs 18 crore during fiscal 2009, is expected to invest its latest funding to expand its product capabilities in the US and India, said a report, adding that NetXcell would be raising as much as $3 million from shareholders. The company had posted revenues of Rs 5 crore during financial year 2008.

NetXcell has already received half of this money. NetXcell had received its first round of funding of $1 million from Lee and Brad Ruderman in 2007.

NetXcell had recently partnered with US-based mobile aggregator SinglePoint. To expand its product portfolio, NetXcell has also launched Ad-Axis, a platform that enables delivery of targeted contextual advertisement on mobile phones, which works with GPS technology. Ad Axis supports delivery to WAP, streaming video and voice portals. This is one in the list of five products that the company will launch in 2008.

NetXcell, which was established in year 2000, aims at tapping the mobile branding and advertising space with this product suite. The product will be launched in October 2008 in India and the US.
