21 February, 2008:

JC Middle East FZC, a subsidiary of the Spain-based JC Fabrica de valvulas SA has decided to enter the Indian market. The company, an internationally renowned manufacturer of industrial valves, will import and sell valves in the Indian market till production commences at its facility being set up at a 5-acre land in Mahindra City. JC Middle East FZC said it would invest Rs 100 crore in its operations in India.

Faizal Kottikollon, president, JC Valves, said, "We have always strived to be a 'one-stop' worldwide supplier for all valve requirements, be it for applications requiring ball valves, gate, globe and check valves or triple offset butterfly valves. The JC philosophy has been to provide its customers with high quality designs that operate safely even in severe working conditions, distinguish itself as low maintenance and offer above all, a long service life. We are happy to be launching our operations in India, which we have always felt is an important and interesting market."

Adding that the company's main focus would be to cater to the power and oil and gas industry requirement in India, he said JC Valves uses vacuum technology castings produced by ETC, its own foundry, to cater to the power sector. These products currently being imported will be manufactured locally in its plant at Mahindra City.

The factory at Mahindra City is expected to be ready by the end of 2009. With this facility, the company will have the capacity to manufacture valves ranging from ˝ an inch to 48 inches.

JC has heavily invested in the development of new products, quality assurance and protection against harmful emissions in order to assist customers in safely controlling their processes.

"We will be able to manufacture better quality valves in India as the overall process from raw material sourcing to assembly will be under a single entity. With the entire supply chain process in place, we would be better placed than our competitors in terms of delivery and pricing," Kottikollon said.
