IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd. (ITGI), has launched On-Road Protector, an add-on to its Auto Protector Policy. The insurance company will come to your aid whenever you have been stranded on the road because of any trouble with your car.
Generally, insurance companies only cover cost of repairs and third party claims in case of accidents. This would be the first insurance company to provide complete roadside assistance in case of a breakdown. For example, at a premium of Rs 900 for On-Road Protector, Iffco-Tokio would provide a duplicate car key or five litres of fuel to the stranded customer if there is such a problem.
S Narayanan, managing director and chief executive officer, Iffco-Tokio General Insurance said, “The idea behind On-Road Protector is to make an array of services available to our customers through a single phone call and to provide solutions and services that will provide unmatched support. On-Road Protector (the new service) is designed to take care of all worries of our customers.”
At present IFFCO-TOKIO aims to provide its add-on services in Delhi and NCR around the clock. On-Road Protector will then also be available in other cities. The assistance will be provided through a dedicated fleet of recovery trucks, rapid recovery motorcycles and customer service vehicles.
The central number that person on the road seeking for help can call is 1800-103-5499. “On-Road Protector is truly designed to take care of all worries of our customers. This add-on product not only provides the customer with swift service but also gives many added benefits which an individual requires in event of an accident or break down of a vehicle. The idea behind this add on product is to make array of services available to our customers through a single phone call and to provide solutions and services that will provide unmatched support.” elaborated Mr. S. Narayanan.
IFFCO Tokio, rated the No. 1 in Motor Insurance Customer Satisfaction, is a joint venture promoted by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-operative (IFFCO) and its associates and The Tokio Marine and Nichido Fire, the largest insurance company in Japan. Only time will tell if this new move by the company is used to good advantage by the customers.
