American fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar will be available in the Indian market very soon. The magazine is currently available in 28 countries and gives its readers insights into fashion, lifestyle and offers fashion photo shoots and interviews of famous fashion designers.
This project is a joint venture between India Today and the publishers of the Harper Bazaar, Hearst Magazines.
‘We are convinced that Indian women will fall in love with the style and authority of this magazine,’ said India Today’s lifestyle group COO Mala Sekhri in a press release here Thursday.
With a tag line ‘where fashion gets personal,’ the Indian edition has been positioned to appeal to the sensibilities of the sophisticated and elegant global-Indian woman in the age group of 30-45,’ she added.
Harper’s Bazaar will be a monthly magazine will have an initial print run of 50,000 copies. The cover price would be Rs 100.
In a limited edition of the inaugural issue, 18,000 copies of Harper’s Bazaar will be distributed – these would be limited edition ‘crystallized’ versions. The crystallisation has been done by Austria based company, Crystallized – Swarovski Elements. Similar issues of Harper’s Bazaar were distributed in the UK and the US in the past.
Sanjay Sharma, country manager, Crystallized – Swarovski Elements, says in a press release, “Our partnership with Harper’s Bazaar displays yet another creative partnership. The crystallised cover of the inaugural issue of Harper’s Bazaar in India gives it a special visual presence.”
Sujata Assomull, the fashion expert and luxury consultant is been appointed the editor and according to her the magazine will turn out to be the ‘bible for elegant and sophisticated women’.
This is the perfect time to introduce this magazine in India as we are an emerging fashion destination. The magazine is also renowned for its bold design, provocative photography and cutting-edge imagery,’ Assomull said.
The premiere issue features an exclusive fashion shoot of Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan and an interview of legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta.
