Wall Street Journal Japan KK, a joint venture between Dow Jones (publishers of Wall Street Journal) and SBI Holdings Japan has been formed. Wall Street Journal Japan KK will launch a Japanese language website sometime later this year, Dow Jones said.

Tea price at all time high in 2009 due to drought in North-east India

According to Tea Board of India, the tea production in the country could drop by up to 50 per cent. That is around 45 million kilograms less tea this year due to drought since the beginning of 2009 in the northeastern part of the country.

Singapore court fines WSJ editor Melanie Kirkpatrick for contempt

Business Standard to shut Bombay desk

Business Standard today informed its Bombay news desk staff that the production work currently done at the Bombay desk will be shifted to Delhi. The staff at the Bombay desk have been asked to move to the Delhi office, said sources. AK Bhattacharya, managing editor at Business Standard and Shyamal Majumdar, Resident Editor conveyed the decision at a meeting today. The desk staff have been asked to give their suggestions, but it seems the decision is final. The news desk has around 7 staffers.
