Business Standard today informed its Bombay news desk staff that the production work currently done at the Bombay desk will be shifted to Delhi.
The staff at the Bombay desk have been asked to move to the Delhi office, said sources. AK Bhattacharya, managing editor at Business Standard and Shyamal Majumdar, Resident Editor conveyed the decision at a meeting today.
The desk staff have been asked to give their suggestions, but it seems the decision is final. The news desk has around 7 staffers.Apart from making several pages for the Bombay edition, the Bombay desk of BS also makes pages for several outstation editions.
With this, BS follows Indian Express and Financial Express, which have centralised their news desks in Delhi. Hindustan Times too has centralised many of their pages in Delhi.
