Heating up the fare war in the Indian
aerospace, Air Arabia has entered the arena
offering Mumbai-Sharjah flights at a
rock-bottom Rs 2999. Services start from
today.
With this, Air Arabia poses a direct challenge to
Air India Express, which is to take off soon with
low-budget flights to the Gulf.
"Customers booking their tickets early enough can take advantage of these fares as Air Arabia's fare structure is based on supply and demand and fares increase as more seats are booked on a particular flight,"
Air Arabia said in a release.
The Sharjah-Mumbai Air Arabia flights will
have a very short turnaround time of 45
minutes at the airport. Short turnaround time is
one of the key indicators of low-budget airlines,
reflecting higher capacity utility .
The Air Arabia Sharjah-Mumbai service will
depart at 1640 hours (local time) arriving
in Mumbai at 2100 hours, while the return journey would start at 2145 hours, reflecting a very low turnaround time.
The Air Arabia fleet includes 5 Airbus
A-320s, which fly to several nations in the Gulf,
Africa, Sri Lanka and India.
