| Kingfisher Airlines in pact with Toyota Racing, sponsors Toyota's Formula One car in 2007 |
Automobile giant Toyota and airline major Kingfisher Airlines have joined hands. A new sponsorship deal between the two will make Kingfisher an official partner of Toyota Racing.
The multi-year agreement which gets this year will see the unique 'Fly Kingfisher' insignia splashed all across the corporate branding platform. The deal was signed at the Toyota team's pre-season event at Expo XXI in Cologne. Vijay Mallya, Chairman and CEO of Kingfisher Airlines and Toyota Racing President John Howett signed the deal. Elaborating on the deal, the Toyota Racing top brass said the partnership was good news for Formula 1 itself.
Further, this partnership is expected to strengthen Formula One's position in India and bring Panasonic Toyota Racing to India.
The partnership, rated as one of corporate India's biggest overseas partnerships, marks the largest sports partnership programme so far Kingfisher Airlines. This is also the first time an Indian airline is partnering on this scale with a Formula 1 team.
Reports quoted Mallya as pointing out that of all the available partnership opportunities and platforms, Formula 1 is the most premium and the most visible one. According to a report, Mallya said that the shared values of Kingfisher Airlines and Formula 1 racing are highly complimentary. Kingfisher Airlines also plans to bring together a series of compelling consumer engagement initiatives that will reward guests flying on board Kingfisher Airlines with free opportunities to watch Formula 1 races live.Labels: Toyota |
