United Airlines launching flights from Chicago to Eau Claire, Hancock/Houghton, Muskegon and Paducah in US Midwest

United Airlines, based in Chicago, the United States, has announced that it will start new services from the carrier’s hub at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago to 4 cities in the US Midwest – Eau Claire (Wisconsin), Hancock/Houghton (Michigan), Muskegon (Michigan), and Paducah (Kentucky) from early 2010.

The flights from Chicago to Paducah and Muskegon will begin on February 11, 2010; and from Chicago to Hancock/Houghton and Eau Claire will start on March 1, 2010.

From Chicago O’Hare International Airport, there will be 2 flights daily to Paducah; 3 flights every weekday (with less number on weekends) to Muskegon; 2 flights daily to Hancock/Houghton; and 3 daily flights to Eau Claire.

SkyWest Airlines, of United Express, will operate the new flights using CRJ200 regional jets, with 50 seats.

Fights between Chicago and these 4 new destinations will offer passengers throughout the US Midwest better options for onward to travel to dozens of cities all over Europe, the Americas and Asia, a statement from United Air Lines, which is a subsidiary of UAL Corporation, said.

United Air Lines, the largest carrier at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, has 570 daily departures from Chicago to over 130 cities worldwide.

According to Kevin Knight, senior vice-president (planning) of United Airlines, about 3,300 flights are being operated daily by United Airlines and United Express to over 200 destinations within the United States as well as to destinations overseas from hubs in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Denver.

Having strategic global air rights in Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region, United Airlines is one of the biggest international airlines based in the United States.

The customers of United Airlines – which is a founding member of Star Alliance – are offered connections to 1,071 destinations in 171 countries across the world, according to the statement from the carrier.
