Qatar Airways, the flag-carrier airline of Qatar, has said it is exploring the possibility of enhancing the frequency of daily flights between Sri Lanka and Doha from two to three.

Qatar Airways has decided to suspend its flights between Nagpur in India and Doha, the capital of Qatar, from May 15, 2009.

The governments of the United States and Japan have signed a Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA) as well as another pact on related implementation procedures.

Qatar Airways Ltd., the state-owned carrier that has more than 200 Boeing Co. and Airbus SAS planes on order, is all set to open air routes to some Australian and Indian cities later this year in the winters.

  Qatar Airways, the flag-carrier airline of Qatar, has said it plans to launch new routes, extend existing services and add 11 aircraft to its fleet in 2009. The Doha-based carrier’s announcement comes even as airlines worldwide are struggling to survive amid economic recession. 

Qatar Airways, the flag-carrier airline of Qatar, based in Doha, and Iberia Airlines, the flag carrier of Spain, are among over one dozen investors which have expressed a preliminary interest in buying the ailing Olympic Airlines, the  national carrier of Greece.
