Alaska Airlines, based in Seattle, Washington, the United States, has announced that it will start a new, non-stop flight from Portland in Oregon to the island of Maui in Hawaii three days a week from August 7, 2009.
Air service twice a day between Portland, the largest city in state of Maine in the United States, and Nova Scotia in Canada is being started in February 2009.
With effect from January 15, 2009, Northwest Airlines, headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota, the United States, will charge most passengers fees to redeem frequent flier miles for tickets issued less than 21 days before departure.
