Emirates Airlines, the national flag-carrier airline of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is expanding its services in India, focusing on adding flights to and from the southern state of Kerala.

Jet Airways, the private airline based in Mumbai in India, is starting daily flight between Kochi in the southern Indian state of Kerala and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 1, 2009.

Bahrain Air, the first and only premium low price carrier (PLPC) in Bahrain, has said that it would launch its inaugural flight from Kochi, Kerala to Jeddah via Bahrain on Wednesday.

Bahrain Air's first flight for the Kochi-Bahrain service have started from the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery, Kerala from May 26, 2008.
