The United Kingdom is going to witness a major change in the passenger-aviation sector with the country planning to replace short-haul flights with high-speed trains.

New airline Akal Air, a trading division of Air Sylhet, will launch Birmingham-Amritsar flights from April 4, 2009.

US Airways, headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, the United States, will launch two international flights from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the United States.
