SkyEurope Airlines, the budget airline based in Slovakia, has declared bankruptcy because of what it described as the “shortage of sufficient interim funding to finance ongoing operations.’
The sale of the assets of Eclipse Aviation, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the United States, to EclipseJet Aviation International Incorporated, has been approved by a US Bankruptcy Court.
Eclipse Aviation Corporation, the company that pioneered the market for very light jets, has filed for bankruptcy protection after failing to produce its very light jets (VLJs) at “unprecedented volumes” that would have enabled the company to price its jets lower than its competitors.
Yet another airline has gone under. Sterling Airlines A/S, the low-fare carrier based in Copenhagen, Denmark, has been declared bankrupt after its Icelandic owner, Palmi Haraldsson, was hard up for cash.
