SriLankan Holidays has launched a new package christened ‘Howzaat?’ for cricket-crazy Indian fans to watch their team take on Sri Lanka in an exciting 5-match ODI series and a Twenty20 International.
SriLankan Holidays, the leisure arm of SriLankan Airlines, has designed several tailor-made packages for the series. According to Amith Sumanapala, General Manager of SriLankan Holidays, “India and Sri Lanka have many things in common, but nothing is as strong as our common passion for cricket and an ODI series versus India is what Lankan fans relish most, giving them a priceless opportunity to witness almost all of the Subcontinent’s cricketing legends in action.”.

The long line of world-beaters the two countries have produced exemplifies the rich heritage of cricket in India and Sri Lanka, from Sunil Gavaskar to Sachin Tendulkar, and Arjuna to Muralidaran and Sanath, the company added. India is bringing a full side, with the return of Tendulkar, and Sri Lanka is also at full strength. Both sides are brimming with confidence having had a string of successes on the field in recent times.

Indian and Sri Lankan crowds are known to be the most participatory in the world of cricket, and the cheering and chanting never stops. As per the schedule, SriLankan Holidays provides the customer with the luxury of choosing which ones to pick. Packages start from 2 nights/3 days, and go on to cover the entire series. Packages start from INR 9,999 for travel out of Chennai, Trivandrum, Bangalore and Trichy; Airport & Country taxes are extra.

All packages include return airfare on SriLankan Airlines, twin share accommodation on Bed & Breakfast basis, and return airport transfers.

SriLankan Holidays would also be offering one free ticket to one ODI and a complimentary boxed meal. Customers will also be given the SriLankan Holidays Shop Over booklet which will give them fabulous deals when shopping in Sri Lanka.

The series, which began on January 28 with the 1st ODI at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, wil offer Indian fans to visit some of Sri Lanka’s wildlife parks such as Minneriya and Kaudulla.
According to a company official, Indian travellers can also find themselves at home on board SriLankan’s flights, with on-board cuisine having a wide selection of North Indian, South Indian and vegetarian dishes; and the entertainment system has the latest releases from Bollywood and the Tamil film industry
