Paramount Airlines’ Chennai-Kolkata daily flights soon

The Chennai-based Paramount airlines plans to start their new daily flights to Kolkata from April 22, 2009.
The company has said that this service is a part of the Paramount’s plan to penetrate into the north eastern sector.

Paramount Airlines’ Chennai-Kolkata flight will also connect Guwahati and Agartala.

Paramount Airlines will have direct flights between Kolkata and Guwahati, Guwahati and Agartala, and Agartala and Kolkata.

Paramount Airways Managing Director Thiagarajan recently met West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and discussed its proposal to make Kolkata as its gateway to northeastern operations, the company said.

“The airline plans to cover all major cities in the western region by 2009 and start operations in the north and north-eastern regions from 2010 onwards,” Thiagarajan was quoted as saying.

Bhattacharya had requested him to start operations for domestic as well as international sectors from the city.

“International destinations from the city are on our radar. For the time being, we are starting off with south and north-eastern destinations,” Paramount said.
Paramount Airlines morning Chennai-Kolkata flight will take off from Chennai at 7:05 AM and will reach Kolkata at 9:10 AM and thereafter proceed to Guwahati and Agartala.

The return flight will take off from Kolkata at 1:25 PM and reaches Chennai at 3:30 PM.

Paramount Airlines has planned the flight timings keeping the passengers flying to southern regions in mind.

It  expects the flight timings to allow fliers to board connecting flights to Madurai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchi, Bangalore and Hyderabad from Chennai.

The promotional fare for Paramount Airlines’ Chennai-Kolkata flight may vary between Rs.5000-Rs.7000.

Currently, Paramount Airlines flies to 15 destinations, Chennai, Madurai, Visakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi, Trichy, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, Agartala, and Guwahati.
