MASholidays, owned and managed by Malaysia Airlines, has chosen Trivandrum Technopark-based IBS’ iFly solution to help market Malaysia Airlines holiday packages and tours.
MASholidays will use iFly Tour, part of the iFly solution suite, to enable MASholidays to increase the market reach of the products by using an online booking system that is fully integrated with real time inventory of flights and hotel rooms.

MASholidays has said that with the iFly Tour, guests will be able to choose tours and packages of their choice, and pay through an e-Payment Gateway.

The new booking system will be activated in the latter half of 2009.

The iFly Tour will also add to Malaysia Airlines’ revenues by bundling air tickets with hotels, transfers, car rental services, tours, and other such deals.

“In the current economic context, ancillary revenue is an important source of income for the airlines. iFly will significantly enable MASholidays’ capability to realize this income,” said Asish Z Koshy, Global Business Head – Travel & Cruise, IBS Group.

“It will also increase the global reach of MASholidays’ products by providing online booking capability for both retail consumers and channel partners.”

Dato’ Rashid Khan, Commercial Director, Malaysia Airlines said, “With this new online booking system, MASholidays will introduce the “unbundled” packages and provide more flexibility in our offerings.”

He said that Malaysia Airlines’ customers will be able to plan their holiday packages to
suit their needs and budget by looking at preferred hotels, tours, tailor-made convenience and matching it with other mode of transportation.

“The new solution will significantly improve the back-office administrations, enhance our booking process flow and upgrade our overall service to the customers. We look forward to having this system in place together with IBS and it should be ready to go live by second half of 2009,” he added.

V K Mathews, Chairman and CEO, IBS Group said, “We are proud to be associated with Malaysia Airlines and be a partner in this business transformation phase at MASholidays.”

He said that iFly will give Malaysia Airlines and MASholidays a competitive edge by enabling them to offer its customers a complete travel service by packaging air seats with non-air travel components.
