Deutsche Lufthansa, the national airline of Germany, is raising the number of its fights between Frankfurt in Germany and Manama, the capital of Bahrain, from 4 times a week to a daily service from September 22, 2009.
Of the 7 fights a week, 4 will be non-stop ones from Bahrain to Frankfurt, while the rest 3 flights have short, intermediate stop in Dammam in Saudi Arabia, a statement from Deutsche Lufthansa said.
Lufthansa Flight LH625 will leave Bahrain at 0:45 a.m. on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and reach Frankfurt at 5:30 a.m.
Flight LH627 – the 3 flights via Dammam in Saudi Arabia – will take off from Bahrain at 11:55 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays and land in Frankfurt at 05:55 a.m.
Lufthansa said it is using a brand-new Boeing 737-800 Intercontinental aircraft on the Frankfurt-Bahrain route.
The plane – to be operated by PrivateAir – is has the latest features, including 32 enhanced, long-haul business-class seats that can be turned into a 2-metre-long lie-flat bed. The economy class, with 60 seats, has an “all-new seat model, complete with individual in-flight entertainment,” Schaher Murad, Lufthansa’s regional manager for Bahrain and Saudi Arabia’s eastern province, said in the statement.
The Boeing 737-800 Intercontinental plane, Schaher Murad elaborated, is a “state-of-the-art product in terms of aircraft technology, cabin comfort and in-flight entertainment.” What is more, he added, the aircraft lets Lufthansa raise the number of flights on the Bahrain-Frankfurt route by 75%, “even in the adverse economic environment of today.”
All the 7 Frankfurt-Bahrain flights provide onward connections to Lufthansa’s destinations in Germany, several other destinations in Europe, as well as a large number of the German carrier’s intercontinental network.
The Business-Class passengers as well as ‘status’ passengers who arriving in Frankfurt can enjoy Lufthansa’s exclusive Welcome Lounge, the airline said. The Welcome Lounge facility, launched in January 2009, is aimed at catering to the needs of the passengers reaching Frankfurt on Lufthansa’s long-haul flights.
According to Lufthansa, the Welcome Lounge offers the passengers amenities to “freshen up” after an intercontinental flight, a comprehensive breakfast-and-snack buffet, quite zones, comfort areas as also a modern shower-area on the lower level, with 28 “high-end showers in an elegant design that invite the guests to relax and prepare for the day ahead.”
In addition, passengers with onward connections can enjoy a number of First-Class, Business-Class and Senator-Class and lounges.
