Following an announcement two weeks ago about their expansion plans to the newly commissioned international terminal at Haneda; All Nippon Airlines has started their Los Angeles-Haneda services from the newly opened international terminal, giving better connection for passengers flying from Los Angeles to Tokyo.
With the NH1005 number flight leaving to Haneda from Los Angeles on Oct 31st, ANA started offering its international passengers an easier and quicker option to reach downtown Tokyo. Since the new operations are a major part of ANA’s plans to get onto the market top of Aviation Industry in Japan, there was much fan fare to the first flight from LA to Haneda.ANA top officials themselves were present on the occasion and greeted the passengers on the flight. To share their joy, ANA even offered a pair of Adidas specialized airplane slippers to their first passengers from LA to Haneda.
With the new international terminal starting its operations, it is expected that Haneda will become an important aviation hub in Japan. Haneda gives the passengers, access to more than 200 domestic flights. Moreover, for passengers flying from Los Angeles, it is the shortest route to access Tokyo and so more convenient. Many on board the first ANA flight from LAX to Haneda said that they choose the route due to the added convenience of accessing Tokyo. Haneda is just a 30 minutes away from Tokyo. But Narita, the major international aviation hub of Japan is about two hours away from Tokyo. It can stretch depending on the air traffic conditions also.
ANA is planning to operate international code-shared flights from Haneda with Air China, Asiana Airlines, Thai Airways International and Singapore Airlines and all members of Star Alliance. ANA has also announced previously that they will launch new routes to connect Haneda to Honolulu, Singapore, Bangkok and other cities in Japan.
According to the new international flight schedule for the ANA services at Haneda, the LAX flight departs at 00.05 and reaches LAX at 17.55. While the flight from LAX to Haneda departs at 00.55 AM and reaches Haneda at 5.00 in the morning. Similarly, Honolulu service from Haneda departs at 00.30 and arrives the destination at 12.40 pm. On the return route, after an 18.15 departure, it can drop you at Haneda at 22.30. There are more ANA services included in the new schedule, but are yet to be started.
With these new services, ANA is expected to make their presence felt strongly at Haneda, as they do in Narita. This will be a major move in their stride to their goal to be the No.1 not only in Japan but in the whole of Asia.
