The Kingfisher airlines will not have airplanes flying from Solapur to Mumbai and back from February 17.
“The launch of the Mumbai-Solapur flight is a part of the airline’s commitment to provide regional connectivity.” a Kingfisher airlines spokesman said.
The airlines will provide four flights every week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The take off timing from Mumbai will be 11:15 am and will reach Solapur by12:45 pm. The return flight will depart from the Solapur airport at 1:15 pm and arrives Mumbai at 2:45 pm.
Commenting on the launch of this new route, Mr. Subhash Gupte, Vice Chairman, The UB Group and Director, Kingfisher Airlines Limited, said, “I am delighted to announce the launch of services connecting Solapur with the nation’s financial capital, Mumbai.”
The flights connecting Solapur with Mumbai will service the unmet and elementary needs of the community of traders, entrepreneurs and industrialists who have been instrumental in assisting trade and commerce in the region, he added.
As a harbinger for the forthcoming services the airlines had planned a special commemorative flight tomorrow from Solapur which will be flagged off by Union Agriculture Minister, Mr. Sharad Pawar, and Civil Aviation Minister, Mr. Praful Patel.
