Kingfisher Airlines starts Kolkata-Patna and Ranchi-Raipur direct flights

The India-based Kingfisher Airlines has started direct flights between the Indian cities of Kolkata (the capital of West Bengal) and Patna (the capital of Bihar); and between Ranchi (the capital of Jharkhand) and Raipur (the capital of Chhattisgarh).

With the introduction of the flights on the Ranchi-Raipur route, Kingfisher Airlines has become the only carrier to offer direct air service between Ranchi and Raipur, the company said in a statement.

On the Kolkata-Patna route, Kingfisher Airlines operates daily flights and alternate-day flights.

Flight IT 4579 takes off from Kolkata daily at 6.25 p.m. and land in Patna at 7.55 p.m. In the return direction, Flight IT 4580 leaves Patna at 8.20 p.m. and arrives at Kolkata at 10.00 p.m.

As for the Kolkata-Patna alternate-day flights (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays), Kingfisher Airlines Flight IT 4581 will leave Kolkata at 9.05 a.m. and reach Patna at 10.40 a.m. On the return leg, the alternate-day Flight IT 4582 takes off from Patna at 12 noon and land in Kolkata at 1.30 p.m.

Kingfisher Airlines’ Ranchi-Raipur direct service operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Flight IT 4573 leaves Ranchi at 7.30 a.m. and arrives at Raipur at 9.00 a.m. In the return direction, Flight IT 4574 departs from Raipur at 10.20 a.m. and lands in Ranchi at 11.45 a.m.

Kingfisher Airlines uses the ATR family of aircraft on the Kolkata-Patna and Ranchi-Raipur routes. These flights are being operated as ‘Kingfisher Red’ service.

According to Kingfisher Airlines, the Kingfisher Red service is the low-cost offering of Kingfisher Airlines that provides a number of benefits and service at low fares.   The Kingfisher Red service includes frequent-flier privileges, multiple check-in options, complimentary food, a choice of beverages, as well as reading material.

Prakash Mirpuri, vice-president (corporate communications) of Kingfisher Airlines, said in the statement that the Kolkata-Patna and Ranchi-Raipur services offer very good onward connectivity and these flights provide corporate travellers, leisure travellers and businessmen convenient options.

According to Prakash Mirpuri, Kingfisher Airlines caters to all categories of air travellers – ranging from the low-cost service Kingfisher Red, to the premium-economy service Kingfisher Class, to the luxury-class Kingfisher First.

Kingfisher Airlines, which connects 63 cities in India and flies to 7 international destinations, has over 360 daily departures. It has a fleet strength of 67 aircraft.
