Kingfisher Airlines, based in Bangalore, India, has announced that it is expanding its worldwide network by starting flights on eight new international routes in 2009. Kingfisher airlines will start services on the Mumbai-Singapore route and the Mumbai Hong Kong route on September 16, 2009, a statement from the company said.
The rest six new planned routes are: Delhi-London Heathrow, Delhi-Dubai, Delhi-Bangkok, Mumbai-Bangkok, Mumbai-Colombo, and Mumbai-Dubai.
The service on these six new routes will be introduced in Kingfisher Airlines’ winter schedule beginning October 2009, the company said.
The new flights, the airline added, were subject to approval by India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Kingfisher Airlines said it would start a Kingfisher Red flight – which does not offer any business-class seats – between Kolkata in India and Bangkok in Thailand from August 14, 2009.
According to Kingfisher Airlines’ website, the Kolkata-Bangkok route will be the airline’s 5th low-fare international service.
The carrier said it would use an Airbus A320 aircraft on the Kolkata-Bangkok route.
Kingfisher Airlines had recently started a Kingfisher Red flight between Bangalore and Dubai. In addition, the airline operates daily services from Bangalore and Chennai to Colombo, and also flights from Kolkata to Dhaka.
Meanwhile, Jet Airways, based in Mumbai, India, has announced that it would start its second daily service between Bangkok and Mumbai starting August 16, 2009.
