Jin Air, a low-cost short-haul South Korean carrier is all set to launch international flights from October 29th, 2009.This would be the airline’s first venture in the international market. The flights would operate between Incheon-Bangkok and Incheon-Macau.
Jin Air’s Incheon-Bangkok daily flights would depart from Seoul Incheon at 8am and land in Bangkok at 11.50am. On the return leg, the flight would then leave
Bangkok at 01:15 pm and land at Seoul/Incheon at 08:20pm.
On the other hand, Jin Air flights on Incheon-Macau route would be operated four times a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flights would leave Seoul/Incheon at 09:40 pm arrive in Macau at 12:20 am the next day.
Passengers can book tickets on the Jin Air website starting September 1, 2009.
There are a few unique features associated with Jin Air. The airlines has announced its new slogan ‘Save the Air’ and will provide ‘No Baggage Green Coupons’ to travelers without checked baggage.
A person with just a carry-on luggage would be allotted 1,000 point coupons that are worth KRW 1,000 and can be used while flying with Jin Air.
As a part of its ‘spreading environmental awareness’ stint, the airline also plans to sell T-shirts with the slogan ‘Save theAir’ sketched by celebrities. Passengers can purchase these T-shirts from Jin Air’s website.
“For the past year, we have proved ourselves as a leading global premium low-cost carrier with global safety standards and quality service provided at a reasonable price,” said Jae-Kun Kim, CEO of Jin Air.
“Our new international operation will be another chance for us to demonstrate the best of Jin Air for our customers, including our green initiatives as a part of social responsibility,” he added.
Jin Air was established by Korean Air in 2008. Jin Air would also fly to other routes like Osaka and Wuhan from December and Guam from January 2010.
As a part of its network expansion, Jin Air is also introducing a fifth Boeing B737-800 aircraft with 180 Economy seats in October 2009.
