Jet Airways will launch new services to the capital city of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, effective from August 6, 2009.Other than the already existing Jet Airways Mumbai-Jeddah flights, this will be the airline’s second service to Saudi Arabia.
Jet Airways has been operating daily Jeddah-Mumbai flights since July 15, 2009. The airline also plans to launch a Dammam-Mumbai flight soon.
The Jet Airways Riyadh-Mumbai flights will be operational four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The airline will use a state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the Riyadh-Mumbai service with a capacity of 120 economy class and 24 business class seats, Saudi Gazette has reported.
Jet Airways flight number 9W524 will depart from Mumbai airport at 5:25 pm and reach Riyadh at 7 pm on Mondays. The return flight Jet Airways 9W523 will depart at 8 pm from Riyadh and arrive in Mumbai at 2:25 am the next day.
Jet Airways flight number 9W524 will depart from Mumbai at 10:30 pm and reach Riyadh at 1 am on Tuesdays. The return flight 9W523 will depart Riyadh at 1 am the next day and arrive in Mumbai at 7:25 am.
The same flights will depart from Mumbai at 7:30 pm and reach Riyadh at 9:05 pm on Thursdays and Saturdays. The return flight will depart from Riyadh at 10:05 pm and arrive Mumbai at 4:30 am.
With the inclusion of the new Mumbai-Riyadh flight, Jet Airways is now operational in eight Gulf cities, Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah and Riyadh.
“Saudi Arabia is a very important market for Jet Airways on account of the large volume of traffic to the Gulf Kingdom, to and from India, and an important addition to the airline’s growing Gulf network”, Mr. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways said.
He added that the new service to Riyadh from Mumbai has made Jet Airways confident of further reinforcing its position as among “the leading carriers on the Indo-Gulf sector.”
Jet Airways also plans to launch new daily services to Dubai from Hyderabad, which will be its fifth to the Gulf Emirate and second from Southern India.
Its second service to Bangkok from Mumbai will be effective from August 16, 2009 and the new Kochi-Sharjah flights will commence from September 1, 2009.
