Jet Airways will launch new daily, direct flights flights from Mumbai to Dhaka from September 15, 2009. “Effective September 15, we will introduce new daily, direct services on the Mumbai-Dhaka-Mumbai sector. This will be our third daily service to Bangladesh from India and connect travelers to and from the Gulf with Dhaka, via Mumbai,” Jet Airways said.
The Jet Airways Mumbai-Dhaka Flight 9W 276 will take off from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 08:40 a.m. and arrive in Dhaka’s Zia International Airport at 13:00 p.m.
On the return leg, the Jet Airways Dhaka-Mumbai Flight 9W 275 will depart Dhaka at 15:30 p.m, and land in Mumbai at 17:00 p.m.
The airline will use the Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the Mumbai-Dhaka-Mumbai flights.
The Jet Aiways Mumbai-Dhaka flight will be the airline’s third daily flight from India to Bangladesh. As of now, Jet Airways operates three daily flights to Dhaka, from Delhi and Kolkata.
Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways, has said, “With the launch of our Mumbai-Dhaka service, passengers from Bangladesh may connect on to Jet Airways’ services to North America, Europe and the Gulf, as well as other ASEAN destinations, via our hubs in Mumbai and Delhi.”
Jet Airways is also beefing up flights on its domestic routes.
The airline announced on August 28, 2009, that JetKonnect, it’s low-cost carrier, will launch flights connecting key cities Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata to smaller cities across India.
JetKonnect will launch and increase flights from Chennai-Delhi, Delhi-Guwahati-Bagdodgra-Delhi, Delhi- Bagdodgra -Guwahati-Delhi, Delhi-Bengaluru, Bengaluru-Mumbai, and Mumbai-Delhi from September 16, 2009.
From September 17, 2009, JetKonnect will launch flights from Mumbai to Aurangabad, Chandigarh, and Kolkata.
JetKonnect will also start new flights from Delhi to Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and from Mumbai to Udaipur, Jaipur, and Delhi from October 1, 2009.
It will also launch new flights on the Delhi-Jaipur-Udaipur-Delhi sectors from October 1, 2009 .
Jet Airways recently launched daily flights to Dubai from Hyderabad on August 16, 2009.
With this new service, Jet Airways now operates fligths to eight destinations in the Gulf region, which include Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh and Dubai.
