Jet Airways, based in Mumbai, India, will launch services from Mumbai to Riyadh and Jeddah, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from June 14, 2009.
The daily, direct services to Riyadh, the administrative capital of Saudi Arabia, and Jeddah, the commercial capital of Saudi Arabia, will be the seventh and eighth destinations, respectively, of Jet Airways in the Persian Gulf region.
Also, Jet Airways has launched daily flights from Chennai in India to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and also a second service between Mumbai and Dubai.
A statement from Jet Airways, India’s second biggest international airline after the state-owned Air India, said it would operate the new flights to Riyadh and Jeddah using the Boeing 737-800 plane.
Flight 9W 524 will take off from Mumbai at 1930 hours and reach Riyadh at 2105 hours. In the return direction, Flight 9W 523 will leave Riyadh at 2205 hours and arrive in Mumbai at 0430 hours.
Flight 9W 522 is scheduled to leave Mumbai at 1900 hours and land in Jeddah at 2130 hours. In the return direction, Flight 9W 521 will depart Jeddah at 2230 hours and reach Mumbai at 0610 hours.
Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO of Jet Airways, said that the introduction of the new daily services to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from Mumbai, will strengthen Jet Airways’ Gulf network.
“The introduction of these new flights will serve to further strengthen our Gulf network, better enabling the carrier to offer passengers seamless connectivity and a world-class product on the Indo-Gulf sector,” Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, said.
At present, Jet Airways operates flights to daily to Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi from several cities in India.
Meanwhile, Jet Airways has started daily Chennai-Dubai flights, and also a second service between Mumbai and Dubai.
With the launch of these new daily services, Jet Airways said it now operates four daily flights to Dubai from three major metros in India, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Flight 9W 546 leaves Chennai at 12:45 hours and reaches Dubai at 15:30 hours. In the return direction, Flight 9W 545 takes off from Dubai at 16:30 hours and arrives in Chennai at 22:15 hours.
Flight 9W 542 leaves Mumbai at 09:30 hours, reaching Dubai at 11:05 hours. In the return direction, Flight 9W 541 departs Dubai at 12:35 hours and lands in Mumbai at 17:10 hours.
Jet Airways has said that passengers travelling on the new services to Dubai have the chance to earn Double JPMiles and also enjoy a 25% discount on Jet Award tickets till May 31, 2009.
Jet Airways also operates daily Delhi-Dubai flights.
