Great Lakes Airlines is all set to add a nonstop flight to Los Angeles, which connects Farmington to its fourth international hub. The airliner has stated that the service will start on 15th of May. What is most exciting is not only the addition of flight to Los Angeles, but also the fact that the flight to Las Vegas has now become non-stop. With the new flights, Farmington will be connected with Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Denver and Phoenix.
It is indeed rare for a city of Farmington’s size to have so many unsubsidized connections that too to four major international destinations. According to the Airport Manager Ben Trujillo, Farmington is a community that has exceptional air service for its size. He also expressed his excitement to get into a work place beside the ocean since the fourth one is on the beach.
City Manager Rob Mayes was quoted in a news report on how he feels about the new initiative. He said he is too very proud of the fact that Farmington is so connected without having to subsidize any of the flights with taxpayer money. This is in fact another very significant fact that adds to the credit of the new airport. He further added that this is a matter of fortune since being a small community; the people over there are enjoying unsubsidized flights to four international hub airports which are really beneficial to the community and the entire region.
Now the place is anticipating an airline that will offer unsubsidized service to Albuquerque. According to airline officials, connections to so many important places indicate that people reaches out to these places for numerous businesses.
Great Lakes Airlines has already offered a flight from Farmington that takes to the Southern California Basin. But later the company decided to change the destination to Los Angeles because the connectivity was better and enjoys more demand.
