Eastern Airways launching 2 direct flights from Aberdeen and Newcastle in UK to Bergen in Norway

Eastern Airways, the regional airline headquartered in England, will start 2 new, non-stop flights from Aberdeen and Newcastle in the United Kingdom to Bergen in Norway on October 5, 2009.

Bergen is the second biggest city in Norway.

A statement from Eastern Airways, based at Humberside Airport in England, said the introduction of the two new services “demonstrates the carrier’s commitment” to expand services further to Norway from the United Kingdom.

All passengers flying from Aberdeen, the statement added, will have access to Eastern Airways’ dedicated business-lounge, can make use of the “fast-track security access” as well as the 30-minute check-in times at airports in both Newcastle and Aberdeen.

Eastern Airways will, from Aberdeen International Airport in Scotland, operate services – from Monday to Friday – to Bergen Airport in Flesland, Norway. The flights will leave Aberdeen at 8.40 a.m. and reach Bergen at 11.10 a.m. local time. In the return direction, the flights will take off from Bergen at 4.15 p.m. and land in Aberdeen at 4.45 p.m. local time.

The airline will operate services on weekdays between Newcastle and Bergen. The flights are scheduled to depart Newcastle at 10.30 a.m. and arrive at Bergen at 1.35 p.m. local time. On the return leg, the flights are set to take off form Bergen at 2.30 p.m. and touch down in Newcastle at 3.35 p.m. local time.

Apart from these, Eastern Airways said it will operate – from October 4, 2009 – additional, early-morning flights from Stavanger in Norway to Aberdeen, between Monday and Thursday. The flight will depart Stavanger at 7.30 a.m. reach Aberdeen at 7.50 a.m. local time.

Eastern Airways also will operate a new evening service between Aberdeen and Stavanger. From Monday to Wednesday, the evening flights will take off from Aberdeen at 6.30 p.m. and land in Stavanger at 7.50 p.m. On Sundays, the flight will leave Aberdeen at 3 p.m. and reach Stavanger at 5.20 p.m.

There will be an additional evening service on Sundays between Newcastle and Stavanger – with the flight departing Newcastle at 4 p.m. and reaching Stavanger at 6.50 p.m. local time; and, in the return direction, leaving Stavanger at 7.30 p.m. and landing in Newcastle (via Aberdeen) at 9.15 p.m.
