Denver-Fort Myers, Indianapolis-Cancun, St Louis-Cancun direct flights from Frontier Airlines

Frontier Airlines, the low-fare carrier based in Denver, Colorado, the United States,  has announced that it will start non-stop flights to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, Florida, from Denver International Airport and also raise the number of flights to Tampa International Airport (TPA) from Denver International Airport.

In a statement, Frontier Airlines said it also will launch a direct service to Cancun International Airport (CUN) in Cancun, Mexico, from Indianapolis International Airport (IND) as well as from Lambert-St Louis International Airport (STL).

Apart from this, the airline will add a third weekly flight between Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and Cancun International Airport.

The new services to Florida will begin in the middle of November 2009, and the flights to Mexico in the middle of December 2009.

All the new flights are now available for purchase at the carrier’s website frontierarlines.com

Daniel M Shurz, vice-president of strategy and planning, Frontier Airlines, said in the statement that the company is “happy to be able to offer its great service to more great leisure destinations.”

From November 21, 2009, Frontier Airlines Flight 708 will leave Denver International Airport at 10:40 a.m. and reach Southwest Florida International Airport at 4:14 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays. In the return direction, Flight 707 will take off from Southwest Florida International Airport at 4:59 p.m. and land in Denver International Airport at 7:17 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays.

Starting November 19, 2009, Flight 358 is scheduled to depart Denver International Airport at 10:40 a.m. and arrive at Tampa International Airport at 4:02 p.m. on Mondays, Thursday and Fridays.  On the return leg, Flight 359 will leave Tampa International Airport at 4:47 p.m. and reach Denver International Airport at 6:49 p.m. on Mondays, Thursday and Fridays.

On the Indianapolis-Cancun route – effective from December 19, 2009 – Flight 36 is to take off from Indianapolis International Airport at 9:10 a.m. and land in Cancun International Airport at 11:34 a.m. on Saturdays. On the return leg, Flight 37 will depart from Cancun International Airport at 12:25 p.m. and arrive at Indianapolis International Airport at 4:50 p.m. on Saturdays.

With effect from December 19, 2009, Frontier Airlines Flight 44 will leave Lambert-St Louis International Airport at 9:35 a.m. and land in Cancun International Airport at 12:40 p.m. on Saturdays. In the return direction, Flight 43 will take off from Cancun International Airport at 1:30 p.m. and arrive at Lambert-St Louis International Airport at 4:40 p.m. on Saturdays.

Flight 46 – from December 23, 2009 – is to leave Kansas City International Airport at 7:15 a.m. and reach Cancun International Airport at 10:27 a.m. on Wednesdays. On the return leg, Flight 47 will take off from Cancun International Airport at 11:35 a.m. and land in Kansas City International Airport at 2:57 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Frontier Airlines already flies between Kansas City and Cancun on Saturdays and Sundays.

In another development, Frontier Airlines ended its service between Denver and Grand Junction (Colorado) on September 14, 2009 – 16 months after the inter-state flight was started. The airline said the Denver-Grand Junction flights had to be cancelled since the “route did not live up to its expectations.”
