Bahrain Air, the first and only premium low price carrier (PLPC) in Bahrain, has said that it would launch its inaugural flight from Kochi, Kerala to Jeddah via Bahrain on Wednesday. The flight from Kochi to Jeddah will be twice a week service, that is Mondays and Wednesdays, while from Jeddah to Kochi the flight connections will be on Mondays.
These new Bahrain Air flights will be operated by modern Airbus 320 aircraft providing the highest levels of cabin comfort in their class. Bahrain Air said that the Kochi – Jeddah via Bahrain flight will depart Kochi at 0230 hours and land in Jeddah at 1350 hours on July 23. The return flight from Jeddah to Kochi via Bahrain will take off from Jeddah at 0250 hours and arrive in Kochi at 1805 hours on July 28.
Further, as an introductory offer, Bahrain Air will offer discounted fares to passengers booking on the first three flights from Kochi. The one way fare inclusive of taxes will be Rs 11,800, which incidentally is 40 per cent lower than full service airlines, Bahrain Air said. With the discounted fares being offered, the airline intends to benefit Kerala travellers who fly to Jeddah on employment and on pilgrimage.
Announcing the new service to Kerala, an airline official said Bahrain Air currently operates a fleet of modern Airbus 320, with 12 seat capacity in premium class furnished with comfortable leather seats and ample legroom. The Premium Class passengers are also offered to use the Business Class Lounges at the departure airports. Premium Class passengers as well as the Economy Class will enjoy a variety of in-flight entertainment options while flying and will have the opportunity for buying a wide choice of duty free items, he added.
