Air India Ahmedabad-Frankfurt, London flights soon

Air India will start a daily direct flight from Ahmedabad to Frankfurt, from June 1, 2009.The airline will use a Boeing 747-400 for the Ahmedabad-Frankfurt operations.

The Ahmedabad-Frankfurt flight, AI-121, will depart from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, at 2.05 a.m. and arrive at the Frankfurt airport at 6.50 a.m. local time.

The return flight, AI-120, will leave Frankfurt at 11.10 a.m. and reach Ahmedabad at 10.25 p.m.

Air India has said that the Ahmedabad-Frankfurt flight will provide convenient connecting points to Newark and Chicago, from Frankfurt, Air India’s new international hub.

Air India will also start a daily flight to London from Ahmedabad, via Mumbai. The Ahmedabad-Mumbai-London flight, AI-131, will leave Ahmedabad at 9.45 pm and arrive at Mumbai at 10.45 pm.

The flight will then leave Mumbai at 2.20 am and reach London at 7.30 am.

The return flight to India, AI-130, will take off from London at 9.45 am and land in Mumbai at 11.35 pm. The flight will leave Mumbai at 1.05 am and reach Ahmedabad at 2.05 am.

Air India will use the Boeing 777 for the Mumbai-London-Mumbai sector.

After its decision to make Frankfurt its international hub,  Air India had started daily flights to Chicago from Delhi, in end-March 2009.

Air India plans to launch a non-stop flight from Delhi to San Francisco flight in the latter half of 2009, after it has inducted three new Boeing 777LR aircraft.

Air India flies to 28 destinations worldwide and serves over 100 cities.

Its primary hub is the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai and its secondary hubs are the Indira Gandhi International Airport  in Delhi and the Chennai International Airport.
