Air Canada, the flag-carrier airline of Canada, is launching daily, non-stop flights between Montreal in Canada and Houston in the United States on November 30, 2009.The Montreal-Houston flight will take off from Montreal at 9 a.m. and land at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston at 11.55 a.m. In the return direction, the flight will leave Houston at 12.25 p.m. and reach Montreal at 4.40 p.m.
In a statement, Air Canada said the Montreal-Houston flights will be operated by Air Canada Jazz – the regional carrier of Air Canada – using CRJ-705 aircraft having 75 seats and Executive Class and Economy Class.
With the launching of the Montreal-Houston, Air Canada will be operating non-stop flights to 17 destinations in the United States from Montreal.
At present, Air Canada operates 14 daily, direct flights between Houston (the United States) and Calgary, Alberta and Toronto (Canada). The CRJ-705 aircraft are used on these routes, too.
According to Air Canada, increasing the number of flights between Canada and United States is a part of the airline’s partnership with Continental Airlines, based in Houston, Texas, the United States.
The planned Montreal-Houston flights, the airline added, will let passengers connect to flights of Continental Airlines to the southern United States and also to Mexico, South America and Central America.
In the statement, Air Canada, the biggest airline in Canada, also said that it will start non-stop flights between Montreal in Canada and Brussels in Belgium in June 2010.
The planned Montreal-Brussels route, the airline explained, will also have “same-plane service” that continues to and from Toronto in Canada.
Brussels-bound passengers, according to Air Canada, will get connecting flights to destinations in Europe and Africa through Brussels Airlines, which is set to become a partner of Star Alliance.
By the summer of 2010, Air Canada will be offering six direct routes, leaving from Montreal, to cities in Europe.
Air Canada, based in Montreal, Canada, and the country’s biggest airline, operates scheduled and charter air services for both passengers and cargo to over 170 destinations worldwide.
