Abu Dhabi – Mumbai and Delhi direct flights from Jet Airways

Jet Airways, based in Mumbai, India, has launched daily direct flight to Abu Dhabi from Mumbai and Delhi.

The introduction of the flight to Abu Dhabi marks Jet Airways’ first venture into the United Arab Emirates. Now the airline’s Gulf route network has 5 destinations.

Jet Airways’ flight 9W 582 (Delhi-Abu Dhabi) will depart from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 2100 hours and arrive at Abu Dhabi International Airport at 2335 hours. On the return leg, flight 9W 581 (Abu Dhabi-Delhi) will leave Abu Dhabi International Airport at 0025 hours and arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, at 0520 hours.

Flight 9W 584 (Mumbai-Abu Dhabi) will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, at 2135 hours and will arrive at Abu Dhabi International Airport at 2325 hours. On the return leg, flight 9W 583 (Abu Dhabi-Mumbai) will leave Abu Dhabi International Airport at 0015 hours and arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, at 0450 hours.

According to a statement from Jet Airways, for the convenience of the passengers connecting to Dubai and vice-versa, the airline is offering a seamless transfer through scheduled bus services.

Jet Airways bus service 9W 7485, Abu Dhabi to Dubai, will depart Abu Dhabi Airport at 0115 hours and arrive Dubai at 0245 hours. Bus service 9W 7486 will depart Dubai at 2000 hours and arrive at Abu Dhabi Airport at 2200 hours to connect to flights from Abu Dhabi to Delhi and Mumbai.

The statement from the airline stressed that the above sectors can be sold only in conjunction with the Mumbai-Abu Dhabi-Mumbai and Delhi-Abu Dhabi-Delhi segments. Passengers availing of this service must be ticketed on Jet Airways travel document.

Jet Airways, the company statement added, will introduce its world-class service on the Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft with Premiere and Economy class configuration, “offering the highest quality of comfort, courtesy, reliability and standards of in-flight as well as ground operations, for which it has been highly acclaimed.”

On the introduction of daily direct flight to Abu Dhabi from Mumbai and Delhi, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, chief executive officer of Jet Airways, said:  “The launch of Jet Airways’ operations to Abu Dhabi is an important boost to the airline’s growing route network in West Asia. Trading links between India and the United Arab Emirates having existed since long and the relationship between the two countries has been traditionally close and friendly – resting on firm foundations of political, economic and cultural links. It is our belief that Jet Airways, with the excellence of its dual-class service offering and competitive fares, is optimally positioned to cater to both passenger segments on this route.”

Jet Airways launched its operations to the Gulf routes in January 2008. Besides Abu Dhabi, the carrier flies to four other destinations in the region – Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, and Doha.

Jet Airways’ primary base is at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai. The other hubs are at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, Anna International Airport, Chennai, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, Bangalore International Airport, and Brussels Airport.

At present, the airline operates a fleet of 81 aircraft, including 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 8 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 54 Classic and Next Generation Boeing 737-400/700/800/900 aircraft, and 9 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft.

With an average fleet age of 4.20 years, the airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleet in the world, the company statement claimed.

Jet Airways’ international operations include flights to John F Kennedy International Airport (New York), Newark Airport (New York), Toronto, Brussels, London’s Heathrow Airport, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok, Kathmandu, Dhaka, Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, and Abu Dhabi.

It plans to extend its international operations to other cities in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia in phases with the induction of additional wide-bodied aircraft into its fleet, according to the company.
