The low-cost Indian airline SpiceJet has revealed plans to double their existing fleet of aircraft and add domestic and international destinations to its destinations map. The carrier has been enjoying high demand in the travelers market, and intends to have twice the existing number of aircraft by 2013, say sources.
Jet Airways has announced the commencement of direct daily Mumbai-Colombo and Delhi-Colombo flights starting November 5. This is in addition to the daily Chennai-Colombo flight that has been in operation since 2004.

Air India has announced that they will be offering special schemes to passengers flying out of Delhi, during the Commonwealth Games. With a lot of extra traffic expected to come in during the Games, the airline is launching two schemes that will be valid between October 1 and November 14.
Executives at Kingfisher Airlines have revealed that the airline has discontinued their association with Seabury Group Llc , the US-based global aviation consulting firm. The firm had been hired by Kingfisher in February to help restructure the airline’s operations and to create a solution for poor financial performance.
