MIMS, which is being termed as the first of its kind Motor Show to be organized in Western India, will continue as a bi-annual event to held alternating with the Auto Expo New Delhi in the auto show circuit, said sources.
The VW presence at MIMS is owing to the fact that Western India offers the company a good potential market. The company believes that by being part of the Mumbai International Motor Show, it would be able to further strengthen Volkswagen as a brand in the western part of the country.
The western India presence gets added significance as its first manufacturing facility in India coming up Chakan near Pune. So with Volkswagen India lining up plans to showcase four of its car models, the MIMS promises to have an added array of models that are expected to lure more visitors.
A range of new cars, SUVs and bikes will be on show at different hubs at MIMS for the first time in the country, said the organisers. The MIMS will also see at least three all new cars being launched.
