About the Tata Nano Europa launch, Ratan Tata has been quoted as saying, “In India, the Tata Nano will be launched on March 23, 2009, and the cars will be on display at company dealerships from the first week of April. The Tata Nano has also generated wide interest in developed countries, since it’s unveiling in Delhi and its presentation here last year. We are delighted to present the Tata Nano Europa for future launch in such markets.”

“The Indica Vista EV represents the work of Tata Motors on alternate technologies, while the Prima is an iteration of a luxury sedan we will introduce. They together signify the ongoing evolution in our cars,” he further added.

The Tata Nano Europa is 3.29 metres in length and 1.58 metres in width. The Tata Nano Europa, an upgraded version of the Tata Nano that will be sold in India, will have a 3-cylinder brushed aluminum engine, electric power steering, and leather seats.

The Tata Nano Europa will meet strict emission standards and safety standards. Safety features of the Tata Nano Europa include ABS, ESP, airbags, and advanced restraint systems.

The Tata Nano was first displayed in Europe, at the Geneva Motor Show, that was held from March 6 – 16, 2008. The Tata Nano displayed in Geneva, which was the upgraded version of the Tata Nano, was the biggest attraction at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show.

Tata chairman Ratan Tata had then said that the Tata Nano would not come to Europe, keeping in mind the stringent emission and safety standards requirements.

When the Tata Nano Europa is launched, it is likely to be the cheapest small car in the European market. Even if the Tata Nano Europa is priced at Rs 2.5 lakhs (equivalent to the estimated price of the Tata Nano luxury variant), it will still cost less than 4000 Euros.

The Tata Nano will be commercially launched in India, on March 23, 2009. Tata dealerships will showcase the Tata Nano in early April 2009.

Tata Nano bookings will be accepted from the second week of April 2009.

In India, the Tata Nano will be available in three variants, the Standard, Deluxe, and Luxury variants. The standard variant will be the basic Tata Nano model, without airconditioning. The deluxe variant of the Tata Nano will come with airconditioning and body-colored bumpers.

The luxury variant  of the Tata Nano will have fog lamps, alloy wheels, air conditioning, and body colored bumpers.
