Tata Nano booking dates and insurance premiums

The Tata Nano booking window opened on April 9, 2009, for a limited period of 17 days, until April 25, 2009. Tata Motors is said to have sold over 75,000 booking forms through as many as 218 dealerships across the country. The Tata Nano forms are available at over 30,000 locations across 1,000 cities.

The company has said that forms will be available at Tata dealerships, State Bank of India branches Westside, Croma, World of Titan and Tata Indicom outlets.

Tata Motors has also entered deals with as many as 18 banks and financial institutions to help customers with the booking process and to provide retail finance facilities. The booking amount ranges between Rs 2,850 and Rs 4,110 among different banks, reports said.

Prospective customers of the Tata Nano can pay the full booking amount by shelling out the cash themselves or opting for retail car finance. The full booking amount is Rs 95,000 for the Tata Nano Standard, Rs 1,20,000 for the Tata Nano CX, and Rs 1,40,000 for the Tata Nano LX.

The company has also added that while the interest rates on the loan amount would vary between 9 per cent and 14.25 per cent, customers would have to spend Rs 3,468-Rs 4,431 as insurance premium.

Tata Motors has said that it has tied up with insurance companies like United India Insurance, National Insurance, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, Royal Sundaram Alliance General Insurance, and HDFC Ergo General Insurance. The insurance premium would start at Rs 3,468 (ex New Delhi), the company said.

The application forms for the Tata Nano cost Rs 300 apiece. Prospective customers can apply with an upfront payment of around Rs 95,000, or Rs 2,999, if they wish to get it financed.

Tata Motors’ has earmarked just 100,000 vehicles for the first phase of delivery. The company has said it has already sold 50,000 forms at our dealerships, apart from those sold at Westside apparel stores and Croma appliance outlets.

SBI will begin the sale of forms from April 9, 2009. Tata Motors has offered its customers an option to book the Tata Nano online, a first for India.

Online applications will cost Rs 200.

The first set of Tata Nanos will be rolled out of Pantnagar in Uttarakhand and Pune in Maharashtra. The company will later on roll out more cars from the new project site at Sanand in Gujarat.

Recently, the Automobile Research Association of India declared that the Tata Nano is the most fuel-efficient car in India out of 450 models available in the Indian market.
