Maruti’s shot at the high-end luxury segment is set for realization with the Kizashi getting ready for launch. Maruti Suzuki India aims at tapping the luxury segment or the D-segment with the Kizashi model latest by year 2009.
Kizashi will be the first ever four-wheel drive car manufactured by India’s largest car manufacturer. The car is expected to be priced around Rs 10 lakh.

The Kizashi, which is said to be a crossover of sedan and sports vehicle, comes equipped with an advanced four-valve, turbo petrol engine and is in complete sync with the Euro V norms, said auto news reports. Maruti Kizashi is also likely to boast of a six-speed transmission from the Suzuki stable.
The concept Kizashi sported 21” wheels – something that is likely to vanish in the production version. A spacious cabin, which is true to the D-segment spirit, and the sporty, exciting styling make the car boast of grace and dynamism to the core.
The Suzuki Kizashi is being readied at Maruti’s famed Manesar plant has been positioned against major players in the D segment such as the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Sonata, Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Jetta. The car is expected to also have stiff competition from more modles that are expected to debut n the next three year period.
