The Skoda Fabia will make its debut at the 9th Auto Expo in Delhi.

The Skoda Fabia comes with a price tag close to Rs 6 lakh. This would mean that the soon to arrive Fabia would compete for quality space with not just Swift, Getz and U-VA but also the lower end of the mid-size sedan market which comprises Mahindra Renault Logan and Chevrolet Aveo. The company however has not yet confirmed the price range.

It is also expected that the Fabia might be rolled out in both petrol and diesel versions. The Fabia hatchback is currently available in three petrol engine versions, such as the 1.4 litre, a 1.6 litre, a 1.2 litre 12 valve, and a normal 1.2 litre. The diesel Fabia comes in variants of two 1.4 litre versions and a 1.9 litre version. The report also added that this could mean that the new vehicle from Aurangabad is more likely to be powered by a 1.2 litre petrol and a 1.4 litre diesel engines.

The new Fabia which looks a bit like the Swift comes with features that are stunning, said a preview. Easily bigger than its earlier version, the car comes with ample bootspace. Some of you are not going to like the Fabia because it looks too much like the Maruti Swift. But then, this is a larger car - so that is the consolation. Take a look at the Skoda Fabia pictures to see what we mean.

Skoda is already marketing the Fabia aggressively and is likely to crank up advertising noise further. Though the Fabia is a volume model, it will share few features with the premium cars from the Skoda stable, like the Octavia, the Laura, and the Superb. So, it is very likely that the Fabia will be pitched as a premium hatchback, a shade better than the Swift.
