Robo Expo takes off at the Auto Expo 2008

Coinciding with the Auto Expo, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has unveiled the first Robo Expo, in a bid to showcase the use of robotic power for the auto industry.

The first ever Robo Expo has displayed robots taking on challenges in safety, productivity and quality. Aimed at promoting innovation for products and processes, the Robo Expo showcases the latest technologies for robotics and automation in automotive sector, they added. The event is aimed at benefiting the manufacturing industry in the Asian region.

With the launch of the Robo Expo, it may be seen that the Indian manufacturing industry has found a venue to update themselves on the latest technologies in robotics and automation. The show will help in the launch of robotics, low cost automation, and lasers that will lead to a safe working environment that delivers high quality and consistency.

Global leaders such as Kuka, ABB, Precision Automation, and Robotics India Ltd, Motoman Motherson Robotics Ltd, Hi-Tech Robotics Systemz, Fanuc, and Rockwell are the robotics and automation majors who are participating in the expo. The event is expected to provide an opportunity to see unique robots and new robot launches for the first time in India.

It may be noted here that the domestic automobile sector has been growing. Statistics say that investments to the tune of $14 billion are being made in the country’s auto sector currently.
