The Reva Electric Car Company and GlobeGround India have announced that five Reva cars would be provided for GlobeGround operations at the new Bengaluru (Bangalore) International Airport. The Reva electric cars have been purchased by GlobeGround to ferry the staff who manage ground handling operations for different airlines at the new airport. The Reva electric car is India's only indigenously produced electric car as of now.

It is truly encouraging to see someone as reputed as GlobeGround India come forward for this. RECC is committed to providing more efficient and intelligent solutions for mobility,” he added.

GlobeGround India feels that the Reva is an efficient and environment friendly solution for mobility of the ground handling staff. “We are currently running a pilot at Bengaluru International Airport as an ingredient of our commitment to this Greenfield Airport project and are confident that we can
replicate the same in other airports in the country where we will soon be operational,” said Patrick Tschirky, GM-Operations, Bangalore, GlobeGround India.

GlobeGround India is a subsidiary of GlobeGround Deutschland GmbH and the Bird Group. The company has been operating in the Indian market in collaboration with international and experienced key players, resulting in high quality services being delivered to its customers.

In addition to its Delhi based headquarters, GlobeGround India has branches spread over other cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. GlobeGround India plans to expand further and take up operations at other Indian airports.

Meanwhile, RECC has said it is committed towards promoting environmentally and socially responsible motoring across the globe. The Reva, India's first zero polluting electric vehicle for city mobility, was commercialized in June 2001.
