Professional models man 2008 Auto Expo pavilionsBY OUR AUTOMOBILE CORRESPONDENT 1 The organizers of the Auto Expo 2008, hired professional models this time to man the car pavilions. Unlike earlier auto expos where part timers were hired as models, this time big automobile companies went ahead and hired professional modeling agencies and management students to help them handle products and technologies on display at the expo. With many a leading player participating in this year’s event, the agencies too have an opportunity in their hands. They believe that it is always better to get some intelligent models, who can be a part of the event at each pavilion.
In keeping with a fast maturing auto market, the Auto Expo has also matured product-wise. There is a lot more sophistication in the presentation of the cars as well. Professional models have been hired to add glitz to the show. Pretty models dressed in modern western clothes at the Auto Expo earn anything betweenRs 8,000 to Rs 18,000 a day. Models from the west are in high demand. Apart from the models, management students are also a sought after lot by companies. The reason being that management students are expected to be familiar with industry jargon and possess good diction. Most of them earn up to Rs 5000 per day at the Expo.
