Mahindra Xylo launched in Nepal

Mahindra and Mahindra has launched the Mahindra Xylo in Nepal.

Considering the automobile industry boom in Nepal, it seems to be the right time to launch the Mahindra Xylo.

Mahindra and Mahindra has, so far, launched the Mahindra Xylo in India, Bhutan and the South African terrains.

The local distributorship has been given to Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd. As in India, the Mahindra Xylo multi-purpose vehicle is available in two labels, a luxury 7-seater model, the E8, and the 8-seater model, the E2.

Cabinet Shrestha, managing director, Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd. expressed his delight on the launch of Xylo in Nepal and said that the fuel-efficient spacious Mahindra Xylo is suitable for both young professionals and families.

He also said that the Mahindra Xylo was fit for long journeys as well as short journeys with a remarkable level of luxury to offer to the buyer.

Pravin Shah, executive vice-president, International Operations, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “The Mahindra Xylo offers an extraordinary level of luxurious comfort and technology at a very cost-effective price. We are delighted to launch it in Nepal where the Mahindra brand is the market leader in the Utility Vehicle and Pick Up segments.”

Commenting on the distributor,  Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd. he further said,” Our distributor, Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd. has been associated with Mahindra for several years and has made a significant contribution to its success in Nepal.”

“With its wide national network and in-depth knowledge of the local market, Agni will provide us with a strong competitive edge in the Nepalese auto mobile market,” he added.

Mahindra and Mahindra has invested a large amount of money in the development of the Mahindra Xylo.

Since the market for automobiles in growing fast in Nepal, Mahindra and Mahindra does not want to wast the opportunity to capture the market in Nepal.

The Mahindra Xylo was launched in India in January 2009 in four variants:

1) Mahindra Xylo E2 – Rs 6,24,500 (ex-showroom Delhi)

2) Mahindra Xylo E4 Rs 6,69,500

3) Mahindra E6 Rs 7,32,500

4) Mahindra E8 Rs 7,69,500

The Mahindra XYLO comes with a powerful 2.49 litre mEagle CRDe engine, which is fuel-efficient and delivers 112 bhp. The car can go from 0 to 60 kmph in just 5.8 seconds.

The Mahindra Xylo comes with a Digital Drive Assist System (DDAS). The DDAS is an an alphanumeric display in the centre panel, featuring an onboard computer to calculate mileage and distance that can be traveled. It gives information about average speed, mileage clocked, and the amount of fuel available.

The Mahindra Xylo was a huge success in India. The company sold 1788 units of the Mahindra Xylo in just two weeks.
