Logan Tourer at Auto Expo 2010

Mahindra Renault will launch a new variant of its Logan sedan at the upcoming Auto Expo 2010.

Frankly, the Logan Tourer looks like another minor refresh for the Logan. Not an all-new car, as many seem to believe, It is not an estate / station-wagon version either. From whatever we could make out from the official information, the new Logan Tourer will have some minor differences in looks – black B-pillar strips, a bit of wood finish and better carpet (!), a music system that enables hands-free telephony as well as USB/ iPod connectivity.

The most important item would be custom luggage from VIP, which is designed to fit into the Logan Tourer perfectly.

Logan has been struggling in the Indian market ever since it was launched. Its value for money proposition was not strong enough to take any business away from Tata Motors, and the impression of a bare-bones car remained despite the multiple minor refreshes – the Logan Edge Connect and the Logan Play – the company could come up with. The Logan Tourer is going to be the latest, and offers nothing that can make a car buyer change his mind. But see it at the Auto Expo 2010 we will.
