Kawasaki Ninja 250R launch today, price around Rs 2 lakhs!

I believe, that the first time we had heard about the launch of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R was somewhere in 1994.  There were pictures and details of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R in every automobile magazine in India, and motorcycling enthusiasts in India were drooling in anticipation.  Bajaj did not help either, and went on displaying the motorcycle in every automobile show in India since then.  One of my friends recently revealed in his blog that he had gone bald waiting for Kawasaki Ninja 250R since his college days.

The wait is finally over, and when the Kawasaki Ninja 250R is finally launched, it will be the most powerful motorcycle in India.

At this point, there is no confirmation on the price of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R, but it is believed that it will be priced between Rs 1.75 lakh and Rs 2 lakh. That would make it one of the most costly motorcycles in India, if one does not consider the superbikes such as the Yamaha R1s or the Suzuki GSX-Rs.  At that price, the market for the Kawasaki Ninja 250R would definitely be limited but the price that is just out of reach it is enough to position it as the aspirational bike for motorcycle enthusiasts in the country.
