Hyundai i20 arrives in style

The wait is finally over. Hyundai Motor India has lifted the wraps off its i20. The car which follows the hugely succesful i10, is a premium compact model that has been developed to meet the increasing customer expectations in terms of styling, features and safety to global standards.

The Hyundai i20 car, which was first unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this October, had seen keen interest among automotive enthusiasts all around the world. The car has been termed refreshing in style and looks.

Safety comes first when we talk of the i20. The i20 comes with high levels of active and passive safety equipment, said the company. Latest generation anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution makes the Hyundai i20 a much safer car than any other. Besides, Hyundai has added six airbags – a first for a small car in India.

The Hyundai i20’s interiors are well-packaged with features such as AC and heating, tilt and telescopic steering, 60:40 split folding rear seats, dual tone beige interiors, 2 DIN CD + MP3 Music System, front and rear power windows, refrigerated glove box, a multi information display that shows trip distance, engine running time, calendar, clock, temperature and audio display, and tachometer being incorporated into the car as standard equipment, said the company.

Hyundai India has equipped the top-end i20 model with features such as fully automatic A/C, leather wrapped steering wheel and TGS knob, steering mounted audio control, foldable key with keyless entry function, alloy wheels, height-adjustable driver seat, electrically foldable and adjustable outside mirrors and the category first six airbags.

Hyundai has made sure that the i20 stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of fuel-efficieny. The car is powered by a 1.2 litre, Kappa, DOHC petrol engine. The engine goes along with a five-speed manual transmission and the car has been made Euro V ready. The car adheres to all existing emission norms.

With the unveiling done, the car giant is making available the i20 in three variants, christened Magna, Asta and Asta (O). While the Hyundai i20 Magna would come with a price tag of Rs 4, 79, 900 , the Asta would cost Rs 5, 59, 900. Meanwhile, the Asta (O) would be available for Rs 5, 81, 900. The company has lined up the new Hyundai i20 in seven hues.

    I dont understand what really is the duty of auto sites. What stops you from criticising the car? This price and this engine hardly makes it a car worth wait
