Honda Unicorn Grand Prix Edition motorcycle launched

Honda India launched its Unicorn Grand Prix motorcycle yesterday. Essentially just a re-strickered Honda Unicorn, the GP edition looks a bit better with an all-black engine and sporty graphics.

The real change seems to be in the tyres. the Grand Prix Edition Unicorn would come with a unique tuff-up tube in the rear tyre that Honda says will reduce the chances of a puncture. I don’t think this was available in the Unicorn so far.

Everything else is the same. You have the same sweet 150ccc engine, the monoshock suspension at the rear, and all-round comfort and smoothness you expect from a Honda motorcycle.

The Unicorn Grand Prix edition would offer the same claimed 0-50 kmph acceleration timing of less than 5 seconds, thanks to a reasonably powerful 13.3 bhp engine and offer mileage figures of around 60 kmpl.

The Grand Prix edition Unicorn is a limited edition version, specifically targeted at the Diwali shopping that is expected to start about now. Only about 3500 motorcycles would be produced with the Grand Prix edition graphics, and would be available in Delhi at an ex-showroom price of Rs 60,000.

There is nothing much that can make us tell you this is a great opportunity and stuff. We are hardly excited by new stickers, and this is nothing much more than that. However if a Honda Unicorn is what you were looking at anyway, perhaps this is a good time to grab this limited edition version.
